Res F members applying for a contract shorter than one year SHALL NOT complete the following screening process (Phase I to V), they shall view the Reserve Employment Opportunities list then contact directly the hiring CANSOFCOM unit instead. Should you wish to be considered for employment at more than one CANSOFCOM unit, do not complete the screening process for each unit as the application allows you to apply to multiple units. You will only be screened once and if found suitable but not selected by your first choice, your application file will automatically be forwarded to your other choice(s) for consideration, testing and interview. Please note that the cut-off date for applying for a supporter position is December of each year and for applying for an operator position it is as per the CANFORGEN. It is understood that service requirements may impede the deadline dates. As such, extensions of the deadline may be granted on a case by case basis.

PHASE I:

You must check if a position is open.

PHASE II:

PHASE III:

Upon receipt of your screening message from the hiring CANSOFCOM unit you must complete the following documentation then your unit must send it to the nearest Wing/Fleet/Base Personnel Selection Office along with your MPRR, Fitness test results, Pers File, UER, CANSOFCOM Screening process message and Conduct Sheet

PHASE IV:

Upon receipt of the documentation above the Wing/Fleet/Base Personnel Selection Office will contact you to arrange an eligibility interview to assess your suitability for service with CANSOFCOM.

PHASE V:

If you are found suitable you will be invited by the applicable CANSOFCOM unit for further screening.

This screening includes an employment interview, a written technical test (for certain supporter MOSIDs only), Psychological testing and interview and an assessment process (for operator positions only).

DISPOSITION

Applicants will be notified of their disposition by message from the screening unit. This message will only indicate if you were selected or not and will not provide details about the screening process or scoring. Successful applicants will be posted to the applicable unit. If you are found suitable for employment but not selected, your application will be kept on file for one year from the date of application. Should a position become available at the unit(s) you applied to during this time period, you may be considered for employment and will be contacted directly by the hiring unit. Depending on the length of time, you may be asked to repeat certain portions of the screening process. If a year has passed since your last application, you must complete the entire screening process described above. All new support personnel to any CANSOFCOM unit shall attend the Special Operations Common Environment Training (SOCET). This course is 2 weeks in duration (including a field portion) and is designed to introduce new members to the CANSOFCOM ethos.
